Helena is 1 year old!!!

Helena is a Year Old already!
She loves to play in the clothes hamper.

All kinds of fun can be had in there!

She is such a smiley girl!

She has a little 'band' station that has drums and a microphone that she loves~!

She also loves Daniel who was 'jammin' with her. He is still the only one who can make her laugh!

Her stats haven't changed much. She is a big 19 lbs now, but everything else is the same as last month! What a year it has been!

I haven't taken her to get her professional 1 year pictures yet because they will not get here before we move so I will have to have it done a bit late and post them when we get them.

Helena had her evaluation today (for our move) and she was ranked between 6-8 months for most of her skills now so she is doing much better at catching up. Still has some work to do, but is doing great!

Helena 11 Months old!

Helena was 11 months on April 30th. She is mobile now so taking pictures it much more difficult than it used to be. She does not want to hold still for ANYTHING!

This is my favorite thing she does. She taught herself how to do it. She puts her hand in her mouth and makes the Indian Noise (Ah-ma-ma-ma, Ah-ma-ma-ma). So cute!

This is a close to a good picture as I could get. I know it isn't perfect but it is pretty cute!

There are lots of pictures, of her crazy moving out of whatever pose I had put her in. Silly Girl!

Every time we get out the dog she has to examine his eyes! She loves them!

I love it when she will hold still long enough for me to do her hair. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while. She really doesn't have long enough hair yet, but I can't resist!

Helena's Stats:

She hasn't had a check up so I weighed her on my scale. She weighs 18.5 lbs and is still in size 3 diapers, size 3 shoes (she doesn't wear them but they fit), and size 6-9 month some 12 month clothes. She is eating baby stage 3 foods, the ones without chunks, but still loves her baby rice the best! She can eat baby puffs, freeze dried yogurt bites, and 'baby Cheetos'. She isn't quite ready for real cheerios yet, but soon! She can now hold her own bottle (big milestone!) She is crawling on her hands and knees all the time now and can pull up on anything. She prefers standing to sitting. She never wants to hold still, not even for food. She still isn't very verbal, but she is emerging. She can make the 'm', 'b', and 'd' sounds and every once in a while will come up with a different sound. She is doing great! She works with her therapist once a week and we are seeing amazing improvement in her skills.

Helena and Sophia in their Easter Dresses! Helena isn't crawling yet, but is into everything. Sophia was doing her best to hold on tight so we could take their pictures!

10 Months Old!

Helena is 10 months old already! It has gone by so fast!

She is learning how to pull up on things. She can Army Crawl, but still not reciprocal crawling.

She is still wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothes. She has started eating 'baby Cheetos' and a few other very soft foods, but still mostly baby rice and level 2 baby foods. She has 8 teeth and loves to use them to bite things!

She loves the puppy's eyes the most!

Helena is now 9 months old. Time has gone by so quickly.

She can sit on her own and does the Army crawl.

She is cutting more teeth and is a droolly mess most of the time!

She can stand for very short periods of time if we stand her up. She gets very excited to be standing up and it doesn't last long!

I love her eyes!

Here her eyes look as big as the puppy's do.

She is getting bigger. The puppy is still huge but she loves it!

So much has happened in only 9 months!

She weighs 18 lbs and is doing great!

Doctors visit

Helena had her doctors appointment (Feb 24, 2011 / Nine month check-up). We got the results of her MRI. The doctor says that there are not signs of a stroke on her MRI so her left sided hemiplegia and speech delay is not the effects of a stroke in utero. For now we will continue with her habilitation and maybe get another MRI when she reaches a year to see if the brain growth on the left side is matching that of the right. Helena is delayed but coming along at her own pace!

Helena weighs 18 lbs 4 ounces is 28 inches long and her head is 44 cm. She is in the 31% for her age. She is a little one, but growing! She loves her baby rice and is starting to venture into other foods, but loves her bottle the best!

8 months old!

Helena is now 8 months old!
She is such a cute girl!

She is now able to sit up on her own, as long as her legs stay in the tri-pod shape to keep her balanced.

She loved playing with the puppy's eyes.

Her favorite toys are the things she isn't supposed to get into. She loves the kids card game with animals on them. The good thing is that she doesn't put most things in her mouth.

Very exciting!
